PetsDogs, cats and other furry animals shed allergenic skin dander continuously. “House breaking” accidents can lead to aerosolized urine. This allergen contamination can remain in your home and in the furniture for years after the pet is no longer present. Also the accumulation of moisture, pet urine and dander often leads to mold contamination. Urine that seeps into carpeting and wood flooring can only be removed by removal of the carpeting and flooring beneath.
Removing a pet from the home environment is the best way to prevent allergic symptoms. However this may not be the ideal solution. Before taking such a drastic step, make sure that it has been established through allergy testing that you are definitely allergic to the pet’s dander.
