Nasal and Sinus Tumors

Nasal and sinus tumors are rare, but they may cause nasal and sinus symptoms. Tumors can block the nasal airway as well as cause bleeding, reduced sense of smell and pain. Nasal cancers have been associated with prolonged occupational exposure to chemicals such as nickel, wood or leather dusts, chromate, formaldehyde and chlorophenol.

Early diagnosis of these tumors may be possible through CT or MRI scans. Nasal and sinus tumors may require biopsy and/or surgical excision by an ENT surgeon.
