Nonallergic Rhinitis with Eosinophilia Syndrome
Nonallergic Rhinitis with Eosinophilia Syndrome (NARES) is a form of perennial nonallergic rhinitis. Perennial symptoms include:
- Sneezing
- Profuse watery runny nose
- Nasal itching
- Eosinophilia on nasal smear
- No evidence of allergies on skin testing or blood testing
The cause of NARES is unknown. Nasal corticosteroids, antihistamines, mucolytics and anticholinergic agents are used to treat this condition.
